The Cow Shed is located on the outskirts of Crail in the East Neuk of Fife, a beautiful corner of Scotland with stunning beaches, traditional fishing villages and pretty harbours…oh, and not forgetting a huge selection of golf courses too! The Cow Shed is full of original features, character and enjoys sea views across the Firth of Forth to the Bass Rock and East Lothian – the perfect backdrop to our “blank canvas” venue, giving you have the freedom to add your own personality.

I met with Mike; growing up on the farm, he kindly showed me around the property and recalled tales of calves suckling in what is now the Steading Marquee.

His Grandfather met his Grandmother in Crail, where she was a local and working there. Saving all he could, he purchased Sypsies Farmhouse where his family and agricultural prospects grew substantially. Not only does the venue provide a beautiful setting for your big day, but they sell homegrown potatoes under the name of Still Delicious; giving wonky veg a second chance.

The enthusiasm and kindness shown to me, and this gorgeous venue, was simply wonderful to be around. No stone was left unturned as Mike showed me the old troughs, whitewashed walls and wooden beams newly restored. It was so humbling to be in the company of someone who has dedicated so much time to this corner of Scotland.

Today, they were installing solar panels with the hope that one day soon, the property and it’s surrounding satellite venues could be as green and as sustainable as possible to ensure a prosperous future. I think you’d all agree that if there’s one thing that on the cards, it’s a very very prosperous future! Thanks again to Mike and everyone involved, it was a wonderful day.
