Crail, the small fishing village just south of St Andrews, really is the most picturesque little spot you could imagine, even on a foggy day.

Charming cobbled streets tumble down to the miniature harbour, which is sheltered by cliffs and surrounded by historic fishing cottages. Crail is a historic fishing village on the East Neuk of Fife coast and is well worth a visit. We decided to spend the day wandering its sandy beaches, and exploring the village before grabbing lunch in one of the local pubs.

We were in the area to visit our friends at The Cow Shed Crail, a beautiful wedding venue situated merely 5 minutes from the centre – see here for my other post on their gorgeous setting!

If you ever get the chance to visit, I highly recommend it. Especially on a Summer’s day when you can grab an ice-cream and even attend their local food Festival which is a treat for the senses!
