There’s something timeless about the ocean — the soft crash of waves, the endless horizon, the feeling of sand between your toes. For Katey and Lucas, it was the perfect setting to capture their love story in an engagement session full of warmth, laughter, and dreamy, morning light.

We met on a crisp but gentle morning at Conrad’s Beach, just outside Halifax. This stretch of Nova Scotia coastline has a quiet magic to it — wide-open sands, glistening waters, and a calm that seems to slow down time.

Katey and Lucas arrived barefoot, hand in hand, dressed in cozy, neutral tones that complemented the soft palette of the beach. Their relaxed energy set the tone for the entire shoot. As they wandered along the shoreline, their playful golden doodle, Daisy bounded beside them, adding joy and spontaneity to every moment.

One of the most touching parts of photographing this session was seeing how effortlessly they connect. Whether they were wrapped up in each other on a blanket watching the waves or sharing a light-hearted moment as their pup stole the show, their love was unmistakable.

This session was about more than just capturing a milestone. It was about creating space for presence and connection—to pause in the midst of the wedding planning whirlwind and simply be together in one of Nova Scotia’s most peaceful places.
