Hycroft Manor, nestled in the heart of Vancouver, is a historical gem that exudes timeless elegance and charm.

This stately mansion was originally built in 1909 for General Alexander Duncan McRae and his family, showcasing stunning Edwardian architecture and lush, manicured gardens. Today, it is now the headquarters of the University Women’s Club of Vancouver. What could be better for a group of all-female businesses to gather and create?

So, in April this year, I (and about 45kg of camera equipment) boarded another flight back to Vancouver to be there for this incredible collaboration once more.

Kelsey (Co-Owner and Designer) and I had a chance to visit Hycroft Manor for a walk-through the day before. The rich history is evident in every corner as you wander through its beautifully appointed rooms. Original furniture pieces, grand fireplaces, and exquisite stained glass windows had us swooning. With its captivating blend of history and opulence, Hycroft Manor was undoubtedly the perfect backdrop for our latest Kathryn Bass Bridal 2024 collection.

In the lead-up to this shoot, I was lucky enough to see some of the sketches before these gowns were created, and this is one of the reasons I adore capturing bridal editorials! Each carefully chosen fabric, stitch, and detail is a true testament to these amazing women who design them; and the process is nothing short of magical.

I got a sneak preview into what might just be my favourite collection to date, and the concept grew into what it now is today, “A Return to Romance”. A collection full of dainty details, new laces, and bows galore. This amazing editorial marks the 6th time I’ve had the pleasure of capturing a Kathryn Bass Bridal campaign, and you know I’m already counting down the days until we shoot 2025!
